Hi guys!! My name is Petra and I am the Accounts Manager and Product Developer at Breeze Balm.
What is your favourite scent of Breeze Balm?
My absolute favourite Breeze Balm scent is the Pineapple Pash. I just love the fruity, creamy scent!
What is your previous work experience, and did it prepare you for Breeze Balm?
My previous job was an intermediate school teacher, which definitely helped me to prepare for my role at BB - especially the mathematics side of things!
What made you want to work for Breeze Balm?
I wanted to work for Breeze Balm because I had a proud connection with the lip balm! There are sooo many reasons; having used it all my life (originating with our grandfather), the amazing team I get to work with and also being able to work with my sister!
You have experienced quite a few challenges with your health, especially surrounding endometriosis. Can you share your story with us?
I first got diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis at 18 years old. After being a human pin cushion, having invasive tests done and being told I was depressed my parents stood by my side to push for a surgery.
Initially meant for a 30 minute surgery, I came out after 2 ½ hours. I had the worst case of endometriosis the surgeon had seen. My organs were fused together with scar tissue, my bladder was pulled higher in my body and to save my bladder from being cut, the surgeon removed a fallopian tube.
Endometriosis is painful. We all look healthy on the outside, but I’ve had to endure years of intense pain, being unable to move, losing relationships due to being scared of intimacy, feeling low, horrible periods, being unable to exercise, gaining weight because losing weight is ten times harder, the list goes on.
It has taken me 12 years to get to the place I am today, and I wouldn’t take back anything. I am strong, I am beautiful, I am resilient. My journey has been rough but my advice to you girls who suffer as well, we are warriors! It is ok to take some time, use your support system of friends and family. Push for answers. And NEVER give up.
What are you currently watching on Netflix/Stan?
I am currently watching Kath and Kim and Riverdale on Netflix at the moment… RIP Luke Perry Lsuch a sad loss to Riverdale.
