The 3 best ways to reduce acne 🧖🏼‍♀️✨

Do you feel like you're doing everything in your power to beat your acne? Drinking gallons of filtered water, using all the right serums and practicing yoga 3 times a week and yet you're still inflamed AF? Gurl, I've been there and have done countless research into WHAT THE HECK is going on. Here's some of the 3 best practices I used to reduce my flared up skin.

1. I quit dairy

I know, it's a sad day when you have to pass up the brie cheese but I'm telling you right now it is worth it! Dairy is known to cause inflammation and increase sebum production. An increase in sebum equals increased break outs - which is NOT what we want! Amongst various other health reason, dairy really doesn't do a lot to serve us in terms on nutrition. Give cutting dairy out of your diet a go and see what what happens to your skin and body.

2. Ditch the makeup wipes, and double cleanse

I've never been a huge make up wearer, but I do always take my makeup off before bed. I used to be an avid makeup wipe gal until my beautician pulled me up on it and filled me in on the extent of bacteria trapped in those little packets. She also informed me that when you're 'wiping' your makeup off, you're also smearing the breakout bacteria around your face. This is not cute. Rather than spending millions of dollars on extra facial products and makeup removing oils, she told me to double cleanse of a night time. The first cleanse removes all your makeup and the second allows your cleanser to actively work on your skin. I promise you within 3 days of cutting my makeup wipe addiction, my third-eye friend between my brows was GONE! #bye

3. I started putting oil on my face, in a routine way

I know right, oil on your face can seem like the most distressing idea to someone who has been told that over production of oil is the reason why they're breaking out, but let me tell you, this was a game changer for me. Facial oils are packed full of antioxidants which led my skin to feel more hydrated and plump. However, I am very particular about the order I use my oil in. Facials oils almost act as a second skin so anything applied after an oil has very little benefit. My morning routine goes along the lines of cleanse, apply serums (I use a B and C serum) and lastly a good quality facial oil. Hello plump, radiant skin!
